From time immemorial, the rose has been associated with women, passion and beauty - cross-continental ensemble, Rosa Mundi is rightly named. Formed to explore the fascinating bridge between renaissance and baroque music, Rosa Mundi's historically informed performance is breathing life to music of the seventeenth century and before.

The enchanting sounds of voice and lutes are the core of the Rosa Mundi experience. Sophia Brumfitt, voice, and Rosemary Hodgson, lute, met during their postgraduate study at the Royal College of Music, London. Their debut concerts in London and Salisbury in 2001, then of Melbourne and country Victoria in the following year, received exceptional reviews.
